Hospitality Case Study
Southern Prime
Southern Pines, NC
Client Goals:
- A glass enclosed 2.5 story refrigerated wine storage display.
- A 9,000 plus bottle mahogany wine room.
- Cabinets cooled to 4 different serving temperatures.
- Energy efficient display lighting throughout.
- Rolling library ladders for easy access to the top storage.
Challenges:
- Size and scope of the project.
- The rooms adjoining the wine displays were to remain at room temperature while the cabinet interiors were to be cooled to four separate wine serving temperatures
- Cabinetry with fluted casings and rosettes was to line all four walls up to 17 feet off the ground with two walls having see-through glass backs
- Ladders were needed to allow for access to the top level storage and yet
not intrude on the space within the restaurant.
Solution:
- Forward planning and precise design had to be in place.
- Meticulous cabinet work was critical to the success of this job.
- Adhering to the mechanical specifications for the cooling systems.
- Allowances had to be made to accommodate for variable site conditions.
- Coordination with the GC and performing the installation with Vigilant's
own crew ensured that the fit and finish was flawless.
